Advis and Community Healthcare share similar values and a vision. We both value “quality and strive for excellence in all we do, working together collaboratively, as the power of our combined efforts exceeds what each of us can accomplish alone” (Community Healthcare, 2021). Advis and the Community Healthcare System in Northwest Indiana have been working together successfully for over ten years.

Community Healthcare System comprises four not-for-profit hospitals: Community Hospital in Munster; St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago; St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart; the Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point; as well as Hartsfield Village, a continuing care retirement community in Munster. Combining advanced technology with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, cutting-edge research, and a network of highly qualified physicians, nurses and allied health professionals, the system provides exceptional care for patients at every stage of life.

Over these many years, Advis has had the pleasure of acting as a trusted resource for Community Healthcare. The scope of our work with Community casts a wide net. Advis remains grateful for the opportunity to work on so many innovative, provocative and challenging projects with the Community team.

Recent hospital service line expansion and development projects include the building of a new rehabilitation hospital, Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center, and Northwestern Imaging, a new IDTF adjoining their urgent care center. Advis worked diligently to ensure Medicare compliance and achieve certification in a timely manner. We also assisted with various government filings and payer enrollments.

A productive working relationship always serves both teams well. The Advis team provided the needed expertise to assist with provider enrollment and credentialing, as well as with Medicare provider-based compliance and strategy. The Community leadership team met and continues to meet the demands of the everchanging healthcare landscape to better serve its patient base.

More recently, Advis has worked closely with the Community finance teams to navigate the complexities of operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Weaving through the challenges related to mastering the red tape of the Accelerated & Advance Medicare/Medicaid program, the CARES Act, and FEMA grant preparation and filings, is no simple task.

In addition to providing state of the art healthcare, Community Healthcare’s parent company, Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, provides constant leadership and continual resources for the enhancement of health and life in Northwest Indiana. As a result of their many projects, Northwest Indiana has benefited from the foundation’s strong commitment to the region’s art, culture and quality of life needs. Their contributions to The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, the Community Veterans Memorial, and Community Estates exemplify what a successful working relationship can achieve: a lasting benefit to the community.
